QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Function as an independent, T-shaped QA Automation engineer.

• Evaluate technical architecture documentation for projects, ensuring the engineering team's deliverables are implemented correctly.

• Design, implement, maintain, and manage automated test frameworks, including results reporting.

• Develop new QA automation tests concurrently with the creation of new user interfaces.

• Assist with manual QA testing efforts and transition manual test cases into automated formats.

• Collaborate with the TechOps team to deploy automation tests within the CI/CD pipeline.

• Engage in reporting metrics for both manual and automated testing processes.

• Create and update technical documentation and instructional materials related to automation frameworks and scripts.

• Participate in functional and technical reviews.

• Aid in identifying opportunities for process improvements and application enhancements.

• Develop and document test plans.

• Work alongside the development team to plan, create, manage, and execute the comprehensive test plan for each feature.

• Maximize test coverage for the most critical features and systems.

• Prioritize automation scenarios based on associated business risks.

• Investigate, debug, and triage automation issues, seeking solutions independently or collaboratively with others in the department as needed.

• Identify and document bugs with clear, efficient reproduction steps.

• Investigate customer issues referred by technical support.

• Analyze code when technical challenges arise to perform root-cause analyses and implement solutions.

• Monitor defect progress and work closely with developers or system administrators to ensure timely resolutions.

• Ensure quality standards are upheld throughout the development and release cycles.

• Act as a team player, collaborating effectively with fellow team members to meet commitments on time.

• Work efficiently with an internationally distributed team across various time zones.

• Develop proofs of concept as required.

• Stay updated on QA automation engineering best practices, design principles, technology, security, and compliance to apply this knowledge to all responsibilities mentioned above.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• Over 2 years of experience in quality engineering automation testing within a cloud-based environment, not including internships.

• Experience in both manual and automated testing for user interfaces and web services.

• Proficient with QA automation frameworks, scripting, and coding.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting and debugging.

• Capability to work across the entire technology stack (front-end and back-end).

• Experience in Linux and/or MacOS environments.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Authorized to work in Brazil or a LatAm country.
