QA Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and develop automated test scripts of moderate complexity.

• Execute automated test cases of moderate complexity and report the outcomes.

• Independently identify, document, and track software defects to resolution using tools such as JIRA.

• Deliver comprehensive documentation for test cases, test results, and defects that is both clear and concise.

• Collaborate with the software engineering team to thoroughly understand application functionality and testing requirements.

• Maintain and refresh existing automated test scripts of moderate complexity.

• Ensure automated tests are current with the latest application updates and enhancements.

• Adhere to and suggest improvements regarding automation best practices.

• Mentor associate automation quality engineers to enhance their skills and deepen their understanding of automation.

• Manual testing may be required as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of overall testing experience, including 1-2 years in automation testing or equivalent training in automation.

• Required proficiency in the Java programming language (core concepts).

• A strong foundation in requirement analysis is essential.

• Must have significant experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Karate, JUnit, TestNG) and debugging skills.

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is required.

• Knowledge of BDD frameworks (e.g., Cucumber) is mandatory.

• Familiarity with SQL and database testing is required.

• Required experience in UI/API functional testing.

• Proficient in using JIRA and other management tools.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess test results and identify issues, are essential.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

• Desired skills in design and estimation techniques.

• Preferred strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Good knowledge of continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins) is a plus.

• A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies is desired.
