This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design and implement manual test cases for AR Unity applications and functionalities within the web portal.
• Conduct exploratory, regression, functional, and compatibility testing on smartphones, tablets, and AR headsets.
• Validate new features and bug fixes before they are released.
• Identify, document, and track defects, including reproduction steps and severity/risk assessments.
• Work collaboratively with developers to prioritize and address issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis as necessary.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Record testing results and provide clear, actionable reports.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and Automation QA Engineers on quality objectives.
• Engage in sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
• Offer insights on edge cases and real-world usage scenarios.
• Advocate for QA best practices and quality standards across AR Unity and web-portal initiatives.
• Assist in release validation and sign-off procedures.
• Utilize AI tools like Claude to draft and refine test cases, generate edge-case and negative-test scenarios, summarize defects, enhance bug reports, and aid in root cause analysis.
• Investigate and suggest AI-driven QA tools and workflows.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Over 3 years of experience in manual QA/software testing.
• Strong grasp of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices (functional, regression, exploratory, compatibility).
• Experience testing on smartphones (OS, Android), tablets (UWP), and AR headsets (e.g., HoloLens, Magic Leap).
• Ability to identify and clearly document bugs, glitches, and inconsistencies.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining test plans, test cases, and quality standards.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Skill in writing and refining test cases with Claude or other AI tools, exercising sound judgment on when AI output requires human verification.
• Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools like Jira and TestRail.
• Basic understanding of version control (Git, GitHub) is a plus.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• QA or software testing certification such as ISTQB or CSTE is a plus.
• Experience with AR/VR or Unity-based applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud environments is a plus.
• Basic scripting knowledge is an advantage but not mandatory.
