Python Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain production-quality backend services utilizing Python.

• Develop and integrate REST APIs for both internal and external users.

• Utilize AWS cloud services, encompassing computing, storage, and prevalent cloud patterns.

• Contribute to data processing flows, including batch, streaming, and near real-time functionalities.

• Connect backend services with external systems, third-party APIs, and AI inference services.

• Work with both relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Contribute to features of the Flutter mobile application for about 20% of the time.

• Employ CI/CD pipelines for deployment, versioning, and environment management.

• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability practices to support production systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, working alongside senior engineers on intricate cross-service challenges.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that emphasizes performance and reliability.

• Collaborate with mobile, Product, DevOps, and other engineering teams.

• Engage in agile ceremonies, planning, and estimation processes.

• Identify risks, blockers, and technical dependencies promptly.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with strong hands-on Python skills.

• Background in contributing to production-grade backend services.

• Solid understanding of REST API implementation and integration.

• Hands-on experience with Flutter and mobile app development, with a willingness to contribute to mobile features part-time (~20%).

• Practical experience with AWS cloud services.

• Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Understanding of incoming data streams, batch processing, or near real-time flows.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and versioning.

• Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Commitment to the quality of delivered features and openness to feedback.

• Attention to code quality, performance, and maintainability.

• Ability to work effectively in agile teams and adapt to shifting priorities.

• Regular use of AI tools to enhance productivity and automate or minimize repetitive tasks.

• Capability to use AI tools responsibly, validate outputs, understand limitations, and take ownership of final results.

• Nice to have: knowledge of event-driven architectures, queues, messaging systems, or asynchronous processing.

• Nice to have: experience with AI inference services or machine learning-related APIs.

• Nice to have: familiarity with mobile app publishing and iOS/Android release processes.

• Nice to have: exposure to infrastructure-as-code, containerization, or orchestration tools.

• Nice to have: basic knowledge of Go or exposure to it.
