This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Engage in well-defined software engineering initiatives that tackle real-world codebases and development hurdles for a prominent AI research laboratory.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues within intricate, multi-file codebases.

• Develop new backend or full-stack features.

• Refactor and transition existing systems to improve performance.

• Create and enhance unit and integration test suites.

• Draft clear technical specifications and provide reference implementations.

• Evaluate code and technical submissions to ensure accuracy and quality.

• Detect edge cases, ambiguities, and potential points of failure.

• Ensure alignment between requirements, code, tests, and anticipated outcomes.

• Deliver high-quality production code and technical solutions.

• Generate comprehensive and precise project deliverables.

• Offer clear technical documentation and constructive feedback on code reviews.

• Consistently meet project requirements and deadlines.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–7 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Strong expertise in Python programming.

• Professional experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Familiarity with at least one other programming language such as Java, C#, or Go.

• Experience in backend or full-stack development with production systems.

• Knowledge of testing frameworks like pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing.

• Ability to effectively navigate and debug large, multi-file codebases.

• Experience in code reviews, system refactoring, and production migrations.

• Excellent written proficiency in English.

• Keen attention to detail and strong technical problem-solving abilities.
