Python, Cloud-Native Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Assume a pivotal technical position within an agile development team at Deutsche Telekom.

• Create advanced software solutions.

• Ensure the implementation maintains high technical standards.

• Act as a subject matter expert to assist the team.

• Actively influence the software architecture.

• Provide technical guidance and leadership to the team.

• Establish and promote best practices.

• Conduct code reviews and make key architectural choices.

• Mentor team members to encourage sustainable, high-quality software development.

• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, architects, and other development teams.

• Design, develop, operate, and continuously improve digital connectivity solutions.

• Collect, process, and manage technical data, network resources, and infrastructure.

• Generate essential reports, including NISV quality assurance reports.

• Support operational communications and billing processes.

• Coordinate technical resources to ensure proper product and service provisioning.

• Manage assets and technical rooms, along with the maintenance of physical networks, equipment, cabling, and logical service relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• Reside in Switzerland, ideally in the Bern region.

• Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience.

• Several years in roles such as Senior Developer, Technical Lead, or Lead Engineer.

• Strong expertise in Python and contemporary Python frameworks, especially FastAPI.

• Familiarity with FastStream and event-driven architectures.

• Extensive experience in developing and operating microservices.

• Solid background with Apache Kafka.

• Several years of experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift.

• Deep understanding of API management and the design and development of REST APIs.

• Experience in designing and assessing software architectures.

• Demonstrated experience in conducting code reviews and setting development standards.

• Knowledge of Clean Architecture, Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and test automation.

• Strong skills in Git and familiarity with modern CI/CD processes.

• Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

• Excellent communication abilities, analytical thinking, and a strong quality-oriented mindset.

• Proficient in German and competent in English.

• Background in the telecommunications sector, particularly OSS/BSS, network management, provisioning, or service orchestration.

• Familiarity with TM Forum Open APIs, Open Digital Architecture (ODA), or similar industry standards.

• Experience with cloud-native architectures and DevSecOps.

• Knowledge of observability tools and practices, such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform or Ansible.
