This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take ownership of the commercial results of PR and Partnerships: driving branded search growth, enhancing awareness in new markets, and contributing to organic revenue.
• Lead a team comprising a PR and Copy Specialist and a Content Specialist. Establish priorities, maintain operational cadence, and elevate performance standards.
• Focus on getting the basics right first: crafting press releases, directing editorial content, storytelling for the brand, and ensuring content quality.
• Collaborate with merchandising on house-brand collections featuring influencers, designers, and cultural figures, emphasizing small, impactful, fashion-forward releases.
• Manage our Brand Ambassador program: engaging authentic ambassadors with genuine reach, avoiding mere influencer gifting.
• Develop a varied earned media presence that stimulates branded demand: securing coverage in tier-1 publications, niche authority sites, and cultural outlets. These mentions contribute to LLMs and enhance brand authority.
• Foster partnerships with sports RX, smart eyewear, community sports teams, NGOs, and cultural institutions, ensuring SmartBuyGlasses is recognized beyond traditional advertising.
• Increase our brand visibility across various platforms: podcasts, Reddit, LinkedIn, newspapers, TV, and editorial content—volume of brand mentions is crucial for SEO and AI search exposure.
• Collaborate closely with our Social and Influencer lead to translate influencer reach into increased branded search activity.
• Set the editorial direction for brand content on the website: focusing on storytelling, product launches, collaboration narratives, and brand pages, while working alongside our SEO lead on priorities.
• Oversee the weekly editorial operations: managing the calendar, brief templates, review processes, output quality, and speed to publish.
• Monitor AI search visibility (SGE, AI Overviews, LLMs) and shape PR strategies to ensure our brand appears prominently in search answers.
• Conduct disciplined experiments on formats, hooks, and distribution channels, quickly discontinuing what is ineffective.
• Translate performance results into actionable commercial insights—emphasizing clarity over fluff.
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in PR, Brand, or Partnerships within a consumer, fashion, lifestyle, or e-commerce brand, with direct accountability for commercial outcomes.

• A proven track record of collaborations, brand partnerships, or licensing successes that you can reference by name (the narrative matters more than the scale).
• Experience securing media coverage in fashion, lifestyle, or business publications.
• Comfortable collaborating with merchandising and product teams on branded partnerships and collections.
• Strong commercial acumen—you think in terms of branded search lift, repeat rates, and revenue, rather than impressions or EMV.
• Experience integrating PR with influencer and social strategies to enhance brand awareness.
• Experience managing a small in-house team or a desire to advance into such a role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Naturally partner with SEO and performance teams—you understand what drives search and AI visibility, even if you don’t handle the technical aspects.
• A self-starter with a proactive approach to action.
• A strategic thinker with a solid understanding of brand development, user behavior, and funnel metrics.
