This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance the media presence of the Executive Director, focusing on earned media and Substack.

• Create and execute a comprehensive media strategy aimed at boosting the reputation of both the organization and the Executive Director.

• Act as an "on background" spokesperson for the organization.

• Establish and nurture relationships with journalists, media outlets, influencers, and key stakeholders.

• Track media coverage, public sentiment, and industry trends to adjust PR strategies as necessary.

• Oversee and expand the owned media presence of the Executive Director, particularly on Substack.

• Formulate podium strategies for prominent conferences and events.

• Produce written content and pinpoint multimedia opportunities across various channels.

• Collaborate with the Communications Director to maintain messaging consistency.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of eight years of experience in public relations, communications, and/or electoral campaigns.

• Proven experience in media relations, including the ability to foster and sustain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and industry leaders.

• Background in crisis management and handling sensitive communications.

• Candidates must have authorization to work in the US, as we cannot sponsor visas at this time.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong instincts for messaging and a demonstrated commitment to message and brand discipline.

• Excellent skills in copy editing, proofreading, and fact-checking.

• Strong abilities in visual and verbal storytelling.

• In-depth knowledge of Substack, media channels, and proficiency with social media platforms.

• Proficient in G Suite and Asana, with the ability to master new tools independently.

• Willingness to travel as required (typically 2-4 times per year).
