This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Observe and learn how the policy team interacts with governmental agencies, Congressional offices, and state legislative offices.
β’ Enhance research skills by collecting and summarizing information related to sexual assault policy issues and emerging legislative trends.
β’ Gain insights into the policy development process by aiding in background research and contributing to draft memoranda, policy statements, briefing materials, and correspondence under staff supervision.
β’ Develop professional administrative and organizational skills through involvement in data entry, document management, and departmental support tasks.
β’ Understand how policy resources are organized and disseminated by helping to maintain and improve databases, resource libraries, and dissemination tools.
β’ Acquire experience in monitoring and tracking legislation across all 50 states, learning how legislative developments influence policy and advocacy strategies.
β’ Engage in team meetings, discussions, and mentorship opportunities aimed at deepening knowledge of public policy, advocacy, and nonprofit operations.
β’ Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student (preferably).
β’ Excellent writing, research, analytical, and organizational abilities.
β’ Strong passion for policy work.
β’ Proven interest in the issue of sexual violence.
β’ Proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
β’ Must successfully complete a criminal background check conducted by RAINN.
