Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Deliver effective individual psychiatric care through telehealth in an outpatient environment.

• Provide direct care to patients.

• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients.

• Create tailored treatment plans for individuals.

• Prescribe medications when clinically appropriate.

• Ensure that care adheres to relevant laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical practices.

• Collaborate within clinical teams consisting of therapists and a psychiatric prescriber.

• Engage in monthly staffing discussions with collaborating therapists.

• Review patient cases, treatment coordination, and various clinical topics.

• Partake in virtual meetings with the clinical team.

• Attend BlueSky clinical conferences at least weekly during the initial 90 days and monthly thereafter.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold an active, unrestricted PMHNP license in at least one of the following states: AZ, CO, IA, IL, MA, MD, MN, MS, NC, OH, TN, TX, or WA.

• Willingness to acquire additional state licenses as necessary.

• Minimum of six months of prior experience as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

• Must not own or manage a private practice.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of healthcare professionals.

• Strong clinical expertise in psychiatry and behavioral health.

• In-depth knowledge and experience in assessing and diagnosing psychiatric disorders as well as psychopharmacological treatment.

• Familiarity with evidence-based and non-pharmacological behavioral health interventions.

• Proficient computer skills and comfort with EHRs, telehealth platforms, and other essential technologies.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.

• Capacity to deliver patient-centered, evidence-based, and collaborative psychiatric care in a telehealth setting.
