Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric diagnostic evaluations for general mental health and substance use disorders across all age groups.

• Manage psychopharmacological treatments for all diagnosed psychiatric conditions.

• Offer medication-assisted treatment for individuals with opioid use disorder who are in active withdrawal or recovery.

• Provide supportive psychotherapy, employ motivational interviewing techniques, and demonstrate expertise in trauma-informed care, harm reduction strategies, and patient-centered approaches.

• Exhibit proficiency in care coordination that integrates psychiatric, substance use treatment, and medical services.

• Deliver direct support for both scheduled and walk-in patients.

• Complete validated rating scales documentation and develop treatment plans to help determine appropriate levels of care.

• Coordinate care for patients, including psychological testing, medical referrals, resource allocation, peer support, housing assistance, and addressing other identified social determinants.

• Engage actively with a multidisciplinary team comprising primary care providers, pediatricians, OB/GYNs, counselors, peer support staff, and care coordinators.

⛳️ Requirements

• Hold an active and unrestricted medical license in both the state of primary residence and the state where medical services are being provided.

• Possess 2+ years of experience as a Psychiatric Advance Practice Provider (For Nurse Practitioners: PMHNP required; For Physician Assistants: CAQ in Psychiatry preferred).

• Have a valid DEA license.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
