Psychiatric Medical Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the psychiatric service line.

• Supervise assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients experiencing co-occurring psychiatric disorders.

• Create and implement treatment protocols, policies, and procedures.

• Collaborate with physicians, APRNs, therapists, nurses, and counselors to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, and offer psychotherapy services as required.

• Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to psychiatric team members.

• Engage in recruitment, hiring, and performance assessment of psychiatric staff.

• Stay updated on advancements in addiction medicine, psychiatric research, and new treatment methodologies.

• Work in partnership with community organizations, treatment providers, and regulatory bodies to enhance awareness and education.

⛳️ Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.

• Current, unrestricted medical license to practice.

• Board certification in psychiatry.

• Board certification in addiction psychiatry or addiction medicine is preferred.

• Demonstrated experience in addiction medicine and psychiatric care, ideally in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

• Comprehensive knowledge of evidence-based practices, treatment modalities, and medications utilized in addressing mental and substance use disorders.

• Strong leadership and management abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proven commitment to providing compassionate care and advocating for patients.

• Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards that govern addiction medicine and psychiatric services.
