This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Coordinate and submit planned outage requests in accordance with approved outage coordination plans and project sequencing requirements.
• Act as the main client contact from the assessment and qualification of project opportunities through all correspondence, inquiries, and submissions.
• Conduct site walkthroughs to outline project scope and necessary revisions.
• Assist in generating or supporting the creation of project proposals.
• Review construction drawings, bills of material, and project documentation to acquire Protection & Control equipment for substation control houses.
• Develop and maintain wiring sheets, termination documentation, and as-built records.
• Provide field leadership and technical guidance to wiremen and installation personnel during both construction and pre-commissioning phases.
• Verify protection schemes and zones of protection to ensure relay coordination and appropriate equipment tripping functions.
• Oversee schedules and manage project resources efficiently.
• Collaborate with Operations to secure necessary equipment and labor.
• Assist with onsite work and material procurement as required.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, testing, and operations teams to address installation and functional issues prior to commissioning.
• Conduct PT/CCVT secondary circuit inspections, testing, and checkout.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSET) from an ABET accredited university, with a preference for power systems emphasis.
• Experience in Navy Nuclear programs, including attendance at “A” school, EWS or PPWS experience, Electrician’s Mate experience, or Electronics Technician experience accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• 0–2 years of relevant post-education experience in an electrical engineering role; experience leading large complex projects in the power industry is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line, AC & DC elementary, and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in computer usage, computer networking, and Android/iPhone application skills.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Capability to map drive letters for server connections.
• Ability to obtain, install, and connect handheld-device apps to cloud services or other locations.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to independently resolve project issues.
• Competence in reading company manuals, reports, workplace regulations, and procedures.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to speak confidently and correctly in English.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to communicate effectively and hear at a conversational level.
• Competence in performing telephone and computer tasks, including keying functions and the ability to grasp and pinch to write.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and utilize fingers and hands for feeling objects and tools.
• Capability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Good vision, including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
