Proposal Writer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and revise compelling content for intricate bid responses.

• Create entirely new narratives from technical and programmatic source materials.

• Customize voice, tone, and level of detail for bid evaluators, district decision-makers, and senior leadership.

• Construct and uphold proposal templates and libraries of reusable content.

• Expand content libraries into new subject areas as Lakeshore ventures into new business categories.

• Collaborate with the design team to innovate new template formats and visual standards.

• Facilitate working sessions to define format and visual direction.

• Identify and implement enhancements to the proposal-building processes.

• Oversee assigned bid responses from kickoff through to final submission.

• Coordinate schedules across multiple concurrent bids.

• Analyze bid requirements and integrate input from sales, subject matter experts, and creative teams.

• Ensure that final responses are accurate and consistent in grammar, style, formatting, and voice.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in proposal writing, capture management, or a related role.

• 4+ years of experience leading or coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders from inception to completion.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field.

• Experience with the end-to-end process of RFP/RFQ responses and proposal development.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining reusable content libraries and proposal templates.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, TechSmith Snagit, and AI writing and content tools.

• Flexibility to adjust schedule for submission deadlines, including occasional off-hours work.

• Preferred: 6+ years in proposal writing, capture management, or a similar role.

• Preferred: 6+ years of experience leading projects with multiple stakeholders; background in B2B sales support or RFP/RFQ response.

• Preferred: Master’s degree or experience in education, manufacturing, distribution, or a related field.

• Preferred: Strong research skills, including effective utilization of digital research tools.
