Proposal Support Specialist, II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide daily administrative and program support to the National Science Foundation to enhance the peer review process.

• Collaborate closely with designated NSF Program Director/s to identify technical and commercial experts for participation in scientific review panels and to offer feedback on grant proposals.

• Input essential data into NSF systems and create as well as manage all necessary documentation for assigned review panels.

• Assist Program Director/s by evaluating proposal budgets and drafting the review analysis needed to support the final NSF award or decline decision for each proposal.

• Provide additional administrative and technical services to the client upon request, such as maintaining tracking spreadsheets and calendars, conducting data analysis, and preparing reports and presentations.

• Organize and support small to medium-sized meetings.

• Communicate with grantees and reviewers via email and telephone concerning all facets of the review process and grants management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physical Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Education.

• A minimum of three years of professional and/or administrative experience in an office setting.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Access, and Outlook email and calendar features.

• Strong querying experience is highly preferred.

• Detail-oriented, with a problem-solving mindset, and a professional, courteous demeanor.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently with minimal direction or supervision.

• Essential to have a willingness to collaborate within a close-knit and diverse team.

• An outgoing and positive attitude towards assisting others is a requirement.
