This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Offer timely and professional support to clients and patients.
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to devise suitable solutions for billing challenges.
• Manage inbound requests through at least one communication channel, addressing the needs of clients or patients, or directing them to the relevant department.
• Communicate with patients via phone, email, chat, or text to obtain and provide the necessary information for effective billing of tests.
• Thoroughly document all interactions with clients, patients, and payors within Ambry systems.
• Review, identify, and appropriately handle documents.
• Familiarize yourself with common inquiries related to Ambry products and processes, using available resources when necessary.
• Assist with incoming questions from patients and clients, striving for a one-touch resolution for all billing-related matters whenever feasible.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Must possess a high school diploma or higher (Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory).
• Understanding of CPT & ICD10 codes, medical terminology, and insurance plans & processes.
• Possess excellent telephone and communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a team environment.
• Capable of managing workload and additional projects independently.
• Required proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, and general internet usage.
• Experience with Salesforce or similar case management software is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, including Ambry/Tempus requisitions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Competence in writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Effective communication skills when speaking one-on-one, in group settings, and with both clients and organizational employees.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Capacity to apply common sense understanding to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
• Previous experience in health care or clinical laboratory administration is preferred.
• Prior experience in customer service, particularly in patient-facing roles within a health or wellness environment, is preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance billing processes, including verification, authorization, or collections, is preferred.
