Proposal Manager II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire proposal lifecycle, from the initial opportunity assessment to the final submission of complex, essential proposals.

• Manage opportunities for new business and client retention.

• Create and uphold comprehensive project schedules.

• Document client requirements effectively.

• Assign, communicate, and monitor responsibilities across cross-functional teams.

• Ensure that proposals comply with standards and adhere to RFP guidelines.

• Identify potential risks early and implement solutions to uphold timelines and the quality of proposals.

• Develop proposal strategies, messaging, and structures that emphasize Alight’s value.

• Tailor standard content to meet each client's objectives and specific needs.

• Write or refine executive summaries and technical sections.

• Collaborate with sales, legal, finance, product teams, and subject matter experts to gather and integrate inputs.

• Work with graphics teams to ensure alignment of visuals and messaging.

• Provide mentorship to junior proposal team members when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in proposal management, preferably within the benefits sector.

• Capability to lead several high-stakes projects concurrently.

• Outstanding writing, editing, and persuasive communication abilities.

• Strong leadership qualities, collaborative skills, and attention to detail under tight deadlines.

• Advanced skills in MS Office, including SharePoint, Word, and Excel.

• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat.

• Experience with RFP/proposal software.

• Ability to synthesize intricate information and adapt messaging for varied audiences.

• Work authorization in the United States that does not currently or in the future require visa sponsorship.

• Successful completion of a background check, as relevant to the position.
