This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Manages losses and claims up to $15,000 for property and casualty insurers through comprehensive analysis of documents, records, loss reports, and other pertinent documentation.
• Effectively oversees a case load by leveraging technology for streamlined claim processing.
• Assesses insurance policies, claims forms, endorsements, carrier guidelines, and additional records to ascertain insurance coverage.
• Conducts detailed investigations, collects official reports as necessary, consults police and hospital records, and examines physical damage or written estimates to evaluate the extent of the company's liability using various investigative methods based on the type of insurance.
• Engages in interviews, phone conversations, and correspondence with claimants and witnesses regarding claims.
• Estimates costs for repairs, replacements, or compensations.
• Compiles reports of findings and negotiates claim settlements in compliance with carrier guidelines and while securing required information.
• Issues settlement checks, prepares regulatory documents, and manages salvage and subrogation as needed.
• Suggests legal action by the legal department when a settlement cannot be reached.
• Attends litigation hearings and participates in depositions as required.
• Adjusts case reserves in assigned claims files to accommodate anticipated costs.
• Maintains an expected caseload efficiently.
• Employs technology and automation tools to enhance claim handling efficiency.
• Forwards claims exceeding a gross loss of $15,000 to leadership for approval.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Must achieve IIA-AIC designation within 12 to 18 months of assuming the role.
• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience is required.
• Previous experience in handling property and casualty claims is advantageous but not necessary.
• Exhibits an empathetic approach to claims handling.
• Possesses strong communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in PC use, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
• Capable of negotiating effectively.
• Skilled in creating and producing comprehensive, accurate, and constructive written reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
