Project Technical Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Assist in the creation of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Scope of Work documents for utility infrastructure initiatives.

• Lead and facilitate client meetings, ensuring proper agendas, documentation, and tracking of action items.

• Create, maintain, and enhance project-specific EPC Scope of Work documents.

• Review engineering design submissions for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards.

• Utilize technical expertise in electric utility infrastructure projects to aid in execution and decision-making.

• Work collaboratively with internal and client subject matter experts to enhance standards, procedures, and documentation.

• Support quality assurance and control through technical reviews, peer assessments, and process enhancements.

• Establish and manage document-control protocols.

• Mentor and provide training for engineers, designers, and project personnel.

• Oversee the scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and profitability of assigned projects.

• Prepare project proposals that include scope, schedule, staffing strategies, and cost estimates.

• Act as the primary client liaison for assigned projects.

• Cultivate client relationships and assist in business-development efforts.

• Serve as a technical consultant on advanced engineering principles and methodologies.

• Supervise project teams comprised of engineers and technicians.

• Plan, organize, and coordinate documentation and activities for significant projects or organizational programs.

• Evaluate project management plans, risks, operational procedures, complex issues, and ethical considerations.

• Suggest new practices, techniques, and process enhancements.

• Facilitate successful EPC program delivery through technical leadership and cross-departmental collaboration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline; Electrical Engineering preferred.

• Over 10 years of relevant experience.

• Experience with electric utility transmission, distribution, and/or substation projects.

• Background in developing engineering scopes of work, specifications, or construction packages.

• Project management experience in utility, consulting, or EPC settings.

• Experience leading or assisting with intricate engineering projects/programs and project teams.

• Strong understanding of electric utility transmission, distribution, and substation engineering and design methodologies.

• Knowledge of project management principles and best practices.

• Familiarity with transmission line and substation construction practices is preferred.

• Understanding of environmental permitting requirements and regulatory compliance is advantageous.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not mandatory.

• Must pass MVR check to be eligible for company vehicle use.
