This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas, +4 more states.
• Oversee structural engineering initiatives for vertical infrastructure projects, which encompass barracks, hospitals, administrative buildings, and specialized federal facilities.
• Conduct thorough structural analysis and design for systems made of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. Create construction documents that include plans, specifications, and calculations.
• Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, mechanical/electrical teams, and federal stakeholders to ensure the smooth integration of structural systems.
• Implement design standards such as UFC (Unified Facilities Criteria), IBC (International Building Code), ASCE, AISC, along with other federal and industry codes.
• Assist in proposal writing, scope development, and engage in federal RFP responses to expand Olsson’s federal portfolio.
• Offer technical direction to junior engineers, evaluate work for quality and precision, and promote a collaborative learning atmosphere.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
• PE or SE license (mandatory).
• Over 6 years of experience in structural design, preferably with federal clients or projects.
• Proficient in Autodesk, Revit, and related analysis tools.
• Knowledge of DoD, VA, and federal design standards and processes.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of leading meetings, coordinating teams, and interacting with clients.
• Experience in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables is advantageous.
