Project Manager – Virtual Factory, Simulation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Oversee virtual factory and simulation initiatives that support new facilities, line relocations, process redesigns, and capacity enhancements.

• Create and uphold project charters, schedules, budgets, assumptions, and risk management registers.

• Facilitate the gathering of requirements across Operations Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, Materials, Planning & Scheduling, Safety, Quality, and Business Technology.

• Construct, manage, or coordinate digital factory and virtual twin models that represent layouts, equipment, routing, staffing, and material flow.

• Assess layouts, staffing strategies, equipment configurations, AGV pathways, and process workflows using simulation tools.

• Detect bottlenecks, constraints, and operational risks while formulating data-driven recommendations.

• Convert simulation outcomes into facility layouts, line designs, and implementation strategies.

• Assist in the integration of simulation inputs with CAD, PLM, ERP, MES, or planning datasets.

• Coordinate activities related to model validation.

• Monitor and report on project KPIs, including throughput, utilization, cycle time, space usage, schedule adherence, and implementation advantages.

• Provide updates on status, escalate issues, and summarize recommendations to the Manager of Manufacturing Programs – Virtual Factory (Simulation) and other stakeholders.

• Aid in scenario analysis and what-if assessments for capital planning, line balancing, resource allocation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain project documentation, model libraries, logs of assumptions, and lessons learned.

• Support change management, stakeholder alignment, and training initiatives.

• Perform additional related duties as necessary and assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is mandatory in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Operations, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, industrialized construction, engineering, simulation, or a similar field.

• Proficient in factory/facility simulation, digital twins, discrete-event simulation, or manufacturing layout planning tools.

• Familiarity with software such as Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE/DELMIA, FlexSim, Plant Simulation, Simio, Autodesk, or comparable tools.

• Proven experience in participating or leading projects that involve facility layouts, process optimization, material flow analysis, or capacity modeling.

• Willingness to travel 0–25% of the time.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.

• Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check and drug test.
