
Project Manager – Natural Gas Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the execution of complex projects
• Create and implement detailed project plans, which encompass scope definition, execution strategies, resource allocation, governance structures, and delivery goals
• Manage natural gas-fired power generation projects from their inception to commissioning and commercial operation
• Enhance project performance in relation to key metrics like safety, quality, timelines, budgets, and operational readiness
• Coordinate project closure activities, capture lessons learned, provide commissioning support, and ensure effective transition to operations teams
• Supervise EPC and External Partner Performance
• Act as the primary representative for the owner and main contact for EPC contractors, consultants, utilities, equipment suppliers, and key stakeholders
• Monitor contractor performance, ensure contract compliance, engage in commercial negotiations, manage change requests, and resolve claims
• Review and authorize construction strategies, procurement plans, and execution methodologies
• Foster constructive relationships across diverse stakeholder groups to facilitate successful project outcomes
• Lead Project Controls and Risk Management
• Develop and sustain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, risk registers, and reporting frameworks
• Enforce project controls that enhance visibility into costs, timelines, and execution performance
• Direct risk identification, mitigation strategies, and issue resolution throughout the project's lifecycle
• Deliver clear and actionable project updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
• Achieve Technical Excellence
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review and approve technical designs, engineering deliverables, vendor submissions, and construction methodologies
• Support the integration of reciprocating engine facilities, gas turbine plants, HV substations and switchyards, utility interconnections, BESS assets, generation resources, and data center infrastructure
• Ensure that technical solutions are aligned with project goals, operational needs, and long-term asset performance standards
• Promote quality assurance and quality control procedures across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities
• Advocate for Safety and Regulatory Compliance
• Nurture a culture of safety excellence throughout all project activities and among all stakeholder groups
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and field reviews to ensure compliance with safety protocols, project specifications, and quality standards
• Guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, environmental obligations, permitting requirements, and relevant energy-sector standards
• Support the safe and compliant execution of projects while focusing on continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Build Alignment Across Teams
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, commercial, operations, and executive leadership teams to facilitate decision-making and project success
• Encourage collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to address challenges and sustain project momentum
• Foster accountability, transparency, and robust communication throughout the execution of projects
• Contribute to creating a high-performing environment focused on technical excellence, ownership, and long-term value creation
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering or design discipline
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in project execution, construction management, engineering management, or project leadership within the power generation, energy infrastructure, oil & gas, utility, or heavy industrial sectors
• Proven experience executing projects from either the Owner’s side or Contractor/EPC side throughout development, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational handover
• Direct involvement in the construction and execution of natural gas-fired power generation projects
• Understanding of quality assurance, commissioning, startup operations, and safety management systems
• Outstanding communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership abilities
• A hands-on leadership approach that balances strategic oversight with detailed execution and accountability
