Project Manager – Major Correctives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee assigned Major Component Upgrade (MCU) and Blade projects from the planning phase through to completion.

• Take responsibility for safety, quality, scheduling, costs, customer satisfaction, and adherence to contractual obligations.

• Promote a culture of safety and lead project EHS performance, ensuring that corrective actions are completed.

• Guarantee compliance with GE Vernova standards, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, prevailing wage laws, and certified payroll processes.

• Maintain audit-ready project documentation and manage quality records, inspection reports, punch lists, and final acceptance from customers.

• Create execution plans, facilitate kickoff meetings, track progress, manage risks and recovery strategies, and conduct project evaluations.

• Establish and oversee project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, invoicing assistance, change orders, and opportunities for cost recovery.

• Act as the main point of contact for customers, conduct status meetings, provide updates, manage expectations, and address any issues.

• Coordinate subcontractors, crane operators, logistics providers, and equipment suppliers.

• Collaborate with scheduling and resource management teams on staffing, equipment, mobilization, tooling, crane planning, logistics, outage scheduling, and site readiness.

• Facilitate lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Mentor future project leaders and encourage collaboration among various functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.

• At least 2 years of experience in wind energy, industrial construction, heavy lifting operations, field services, or similar sectors.

• Proven experience managing Major Component Upgrades, Blade projects, or comparable large-scale field operations.

• Familiarity with crane operations, lift planning, rigging methods, and site logistics.

• Experience in projects operating under prevailing wage conditions.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic operational setting.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Smartsheet, and other project management software.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• PMP certification or equivalent project management training is preferred.

• Previous experience with wind turbine major component exchanges is preferred.

• Familiarity with blade repair or replacement projects is preferred.

• Knowledge of labor compliance and certified payroll processes is preferred.

• Experience in managing subcontracted workforces is preferred.

• Training in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.

• Experience working directly with utility-scale renewable energy clients is preferred.
