Project Manager – Cybersecurity, Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring accountability for all deliverables and contractual obligations.

• Initiate project kickoff meetings and create, publish, and oversee the Master Project Plan.

• Coordinate efforts across multiple agencies for access requests, testing timelines, stakeholder communications, and deployment processes.

• Manage the deliverable acceptance framework, which includes overseeing evidence packages, tracking submissions, and maintaining formal approval documentation.

• Keep risk and issue logs updated, while promptly escalating any scheduling discrepancies.

• Generate daily, biweekly, and monthly status reports along with executive dashboards.

• Lead the lessons learned sessions and ensure knowledge transfer to government staff.

• Uphold confidentiality standards, manage evidence handling, comply with records retention policies, and adhere to public records regulations.

• Govern change control processes and secure written client consent before proceeding with work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in managing intricate cybersecurity, IT audit, compliance, or cyber risk projects.

• At least 3 years of experience leading programs involving multiple agencies, stakeholders, or enterprise-wide initiatives.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in state, local, or federal government settings.

• Proven experience with firm fixed-price or deliverable-based contracts that include formal client acceptance criteria.

• Demonstrated capability in managing programs that involve 20 or more unique client organizations or business units.

• Must be a resident of Florida.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is mandatory.

• Extensive experience overseeing large-scale cybersecurity, independent assessments, IT audits, or compliance validation projects.

• Familiar with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, IIA Global Internal Audit Standards, and the GAO Yellow Book.

• Knowledgeable about Agreed Upon Procedures engagements or similar factual findings reporting.

• Experience in directing vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, adversary emulation, control validation, and risk-based testing.

• Proficient in developing governance frameworks, communication strategies, risk logs, resource plans, and executive report packages.

• Skilled in managing evidence collection, documentation reviews, confidentiality, and secure handling of sensitive governmental data.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Jira, ServiceNow, ClickUp, Confluence, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365.

• Capable of coordinating access requests, testing schedules, and communications across various independent client organizations.

• Experienced in delivering audit-quality work products, including memoranda, testing plans, compliance matrices, and executive presentations.

• Ability to facilitate lessons learned sessions and formal knowledge transfer processes.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
