This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee designated structural steel erection initiatives from project handover to final completion.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate field operations, engineering, safety protocols, quality assurance, and accounting procedures.
• Set project goals and convey expectations to the project team.
• Administer project budgets, cost forecasts, labor productivity, equipment usage, and overall profitability.
• Generate monthly cost forecasts and financial projections.
• Review and authorize expenditures related to the project while managing financial risks.
• Ensure compliance with contracts and oversee subcontractor agreements and supplier obligations.
• Negotiate change orders and handle RFIs, submittals, and contract communications.
• Maintain precise project documentation.
• Develop project execution strategies and coordinate engineering deliverables and procurement activities.
• Track schedule performance and implement corrective action plans as needed.
• Collaborate with General Superintendents to align manpower needs.
• Act as the primary commercial contact for the assigned projects.
• Hold regular project review meetings with clients to nurture long-term relationships.
• Identify potential project risks, formulate mitigation strategies, and escalate significant issues as necessary.
• Support safety and quality adherence in line with company standards.
• Lead and mentor project team members, including Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Encourage collaboration between office and field staff while promoting Walters Core Values.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible project management experience in structural steel, industrial, or heavy commercial construction.
• Strong grasp of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and cost management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Preferred experience in managing structural steel erection projects.
• Familiarity with crane operations and heavy lifting is a plus.
• Experience with Viewpoint Vista ERP is preferred.
• Previous experience working with union labor is advantageous.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
