This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee comprehensive project management for AI strategy, governance, and operations workstreams, encompassing planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across VA program offices.
• Create, maintain, and report on integrated project plans, work breakdown structures, milestones, and status dashboards.
• Organize project meetings, working sessions, and governance reviews; document action items, decisions, and risks; and ensure timely follow-up.
• Recognize, monitor, and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies, while formulating mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate collaboration among technical teams, VA government leads, and contract stakeholders to implement AI governance frameworks, policies, and operational artifacts.
• Draft and present written communications, briefings, and project documentation for senior VA leadership.
• Ensure that deliverables comply with contractual obligations and federal reporting standards.
• A minimum of 3+ years of experience providing project management support in a technical or IT-focused setting.
• Proven capacity to manage multiple concurrent workstreams effectively.
• No specified minimum education requirement; equivalent combinations of relevant education, training, and professional experience will be evaluated.
• Previous experience assisting federal agency clients, preferably with the Department of Veterans Affairs or another federal health or civilian agency, is highly preferred.
• Capability to obtain and maintain VA network access and fulfill federal background investigation criteria.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required; certification must be current and in good standing with PMI at the time of hire.
• Experience in supporting AI, data, or emerging technology programs within a federal health agency such as VA, HHS, or DoD.
• Familiarity with VA or federal IT governance frameworks, including VA Handbook 6500, FedRAMP, or NIST risk management standards.
• Working knowledge of Agile and hybrid project management methodologies, such as SAFe and Scrum.
• Experience in developing and managing Project Management Plans, Risk Registers, and CONOPS.
• Proficient in MS Project, Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms used in federal contracting environments.
