This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of project strategy and execution. Lead the creation and implementation of project plans that align client goals with Momentum’s expertise in technology, policy, and market dynamics.
• Act as the project authority. Serve as the primary point of accountability for assigned projects, managing scope, budget, and timeline with full decision-making power, unless a Director is directly overseeing the engagement.
• Delegate and oversee resources. Determine the allocation of project budgets and responsibilities across Momentum’s internal and external teams, including Client Managers, Project Operations members, and contractors.
• Ensure quality and delivery standards. Maintain comprehensive oversight of project quality, deliverables, and client satisfaction. Project Leads are accountable for the success of all deliverables linked to their projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams. Provide clear direction, feedback, and support to team members, ensuring alignment, balanced workloads, and effective coordination across various functions.
• Generate and sustain work. Achieve utilization targets by leveraging internal sales skills with Directors and strengthening relationships with existing clients to secure new scopes of work.
• Anticipate and resolve issues. Identify delivery challenges early and implement solutions that uphold project quality, client satisfaction, and financial viability.
• Mentor through execution. Enhance team capabilities through collaborative work, exemplifying high standards and rigorous project discipline within each engagement.
• Contribute to organizational growth. Recognize emerging client needs and capability gaps that could enhance Momentum’s offerings and inform future hiring or service expansion.
• Cultivate client trust and presence. Represent Momentum for assigned projects, building relationships based on credibility and results that position the Project Lead as a trusted partner to clients.
• Collaborate across functions. Work closely with Directors, Client Managers, and the Project Operations and Business Operations teams to align project execution with organizational strategies and performance metrics.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• 6–8 years of professional experience in consulting, infrastructure strategy, federal program delivery, public-sector initiatives, or similar client-facing advisory roles.
• Preferred experience working with or within federal agencies such as MARAD, DOT, DOE, EPA, or comparable organizations.
• Preferred experience supporting federal grants, loans, incentives, technical assistance programs, or other publicly funded infrastructure and clean technology initiatives.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects and managing client relationships.
• Experience in developing scopes of work, budgets, and project strategies.
• History of consistent client retention and collaboration within the organization.
• Experience mentoring staff and coordinating cross-functional teams.
