This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide guidance and leadership to clients and project teams in defining project goals and vision.
• Mentor teams, uphold firm-wide standards, and independently establish design direction.
• Lead interior design efforts across various projects, emphasizing furniture planning and conceptual strategy.
• Inspire and motivate teams while steering the creative process.
• Oversee production, coordinate disciplines, and enhance design visualization.
• Direct the interior design approach through various phases including pursuit, programming and visioning, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction design, procurement, and construction administration.
• Assess client needs and document design objectives along with spatial requirements.
• Coordinate and delegate project design tasks and ensure code compliance.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, strategy, experiential branding, and consultants.
• Review drawings while adhering to project time, budget, and quality constraints.
• Create project work plans and monitor team adherence to schedules.
• Facilitate client meetings and nurture client relationships.
• Implement and uphold interior design standards throughout project phases.
• Develop or oversee documentation for furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Curate material palettes that convey narratives and align with client goals.
• Supervise specifications.
• Mentor junior interior design staff.
• Engage in design leadership, business development, industry events, marketing initiatives, proposal creation, and interviews.
• Consult with furniture manufacturers, dealers, product vendors, and industry partners.
• Participate in construction administration, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and managing punch lists.
• Ensure compliance with project sustainability metrics.
• Operate within project budgets and timelines to achieve profitability targets.
• Maintain 80% billable time and 10% marketing time.
• Carry out other duties as necessary.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field is required.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Current NCIDQ certification or applicable certification/licensure is preferred.
• Capability to provide leadership in interior design with a focus on furniture across multiple projects.
• Strong skills in experiential design, storytelling, and technical aspects.
• Knowledge of building and life safety codes is required.
• Exceptional skills in presentation, organization, team building, collaboration, and communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain client relationships.
• Experience in leading a high-performing team and mentoring staff is required.
• Skills in conceptualization and direction-setting for furniture planning, palettes, specifications, and implementation.
• Application of standards and adherence to quality processes.
• Oversight of production and coordination among disciplines.
• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work with a high degree of self-motivation, autonomy, and strategic influence.
• Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
