Project Finance Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop, sustain, and enhance financial models at both project and fund levels, ensuring consistency with underwriting assumptions, capital structures, and RFP specifications.

• Assist in the execution of M&A transactions (both buy-side and sell-side), encompassing valuation, modeling, due diligence, and coordination with both internal and external parties.

• Evaluate and construct models for PPA and community solar RFP submissions, aiding in bid strategy and pricing decisions.

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary inputs and confirm assumptions for assets in the development stage.

• Create investment memoranda and presentation materials for internal approvals, discussions with investors, and engagement with lenders.

• Support transaction structuring, negotiations with investors, and the execution of financing agreements.

• Oversee financial performance of late-stage and operational projects, identifying risks and recommending mitigations.

• Monitor market trends, policy changes, and valuation benchmarks pertinent to solar and BESS financing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, corporate development, or M&A, with direct involvement in solar and/or BESS.

• Proficient Excel modeling skills, including project cash flow analysis, scenario/sensitivity examination, and valuation methodologies.

• Knowledge of tax equity structures (e.g., partnership flip) and the mechanics of renewable energy financing.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of turning complex analyses into practical insights.

• Proven track record of managing multiple high-priority projects under stringent deadlines with attention to detail.

• A proactive and collaborative mindset, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
