Project Engineer – Field Inspections, Structural

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Support property owners by addressing issues and enhancing their understanding of building and site improvements through detailed forensic site inspections, technical documentation, and repair/construction design.

• Conduct on-site investigations and structural evaluations of existing homes, buildings, or structures.

• Prepare forensic structural engineering evaluations and reports.

• Engage in structural design for both residential and commercial projects.

• Potential involvement in residential plan assessments.

• Communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with clients, including homeowners, property owners, contractors, engineers, and architects.

• Travel to various inspection locations, encompassing both residential and commercial sites.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering institution.

• A focus on structural engineering is preferred.

• Engineering Intern Training (EIT) Certification is required; Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.

• Demonstrated skills in technical writing and report preparation.

• Excellent communication abilities to engage with clients on a daily basis.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

• Proficiency in managing multiple projects at once.

• Willingness to conduct inspections in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and roofs.

• Must be capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and maintaining balance.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management tools.

• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
