This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team consisting of approximately 8-11 Designers
• Offer guidance and growth through performance evaluations, professional development, mentoring, and personalized development plans
• Monitor workload, schedules, priorities, and resource distribution
• Convey objectives, priorities, expectations, and business targets
• Organize, direct, and coordinate team activities in conjunction with the broader Design Team
• Assist the Design Team’s Chief Engineer with budgeting, differentiating direct and indirect work, and training efforts
• Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders across various segments and functions
• Prioritize tasks, address challenges, and ensure timely achievement of deliverables
• Engage in ongoing improvement and process enhancement initiatives across engineering disciplines
• Manage multiple priorities while ensuring team goals and deliverables are met
• Develop and uphold project documentation, analysis summaries, research logs, and supporting materials
• Analyze and assist in resolving Engineering challenges through verbal or written communication
• Take part in initiatives related to metrics, mentoring, organizational efficiency, and employee development
• Ensure adherence to engineering criteria and drawing standards
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned
• Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
• At least three (3) years of leadership experience, encompassing employee development, workload management, team performance, and process improvement initiatives
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership abilities
• Capability to promote accountability and influence others
• Strong understanding of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and associated systems
• Proficient in utilizing a high-level CAD system
• Must be available during standard business hours, between 6:00am-4:30pm Eastern Time
