This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide strategic, commercial, and delivery leadership for the formulation and implementation of fibre commercialization initiatives.
• Define and spearhead commercialization strategies for fibre assets, including pricing models, access frameworks, and partnership structures.
• Develop and maintain multi-year commercialization roadmaps that align with capital planning and infrastructure investments.
• Identify and assess revenue generation prospects, including wholesale bandwidth services, co-location, and partnership arrangements.
• Oversee fibre commercialization elements within significant infrastructure initiatives.
• Engage in negotiations with telecommunications providers, infrastructure partners, and service providers.
• Develop and manage commercial agreements, encompassing access agreements, service contracts, and partnership frameworks.
• Provide leadership and input into procurement strategies, including RFP development, evaluation, and contract structuring.
• Create and maintain financial models for fibre commercialization, covering capital recovery, operating costs, and revenue forecasts.
• Establish governance frameworks for commercialization decisions, including oversight, reporting, and accountability mechanisms.
• Ensure that fibre commercialization is in sync with broader digital transformation, connectivity, and service delivery objectives.
• Offer strategic counsel to senior leadership regarding fibre commercialization opportunities and risks.
• A degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Project management or commercial certification, such as PMP, is considered an asset.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in infrastructure, telecommunications, or large-scale project/program execution.
• Proven experience leading commercial, procurement, or partnership activities related to major infrastructure projects.
• Experience in developing business cases, financial models, and funding submissions for capital projects.
• Background in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, preferably within government or regulated sectors.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts or commercial agreements.
• This is a remote consulting opportunity supporting a government client.
