Project Designer, Civil/Structural

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and modify design drawings for high-voltage transmission and distribution substations, encompassing site plans, foundation plans and details, as well as structural steel plans and fabrication details.

• Execute civil/structural design for high-voltage substation engineering initiatives.

• Perform peer reviews of design drawings created by fellow designers.

• Manage the archiving, current, and working drawing revisions.

• Revise drawings to accurately represent field as-built conditions.

• Mentor and instruct junior designers and/or new team members on civil/structural design and company methodologies.

• Engage in the development and assessment of company standards and design tools to enhance design applications.

• Provide necessary project and office support as needed.

• Occasionally travel to field locations or work at client offices as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing transmission-level substations ranging from 13.8 kV to 500 kV.

• Proficient in site plans, foundation plans and details, as well as structural steel plans and fabrication details.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

• Competent in problem-solving in time-sensitive scenarios.

• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD 2015 or later is required.

• Advanced/intermediate skills in MicroStation are preferred.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.

• Capability to lift/move equipment weighing up to 15 lbs.

• Occasional travel to field locations or client offices may be necessary.

• An Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering/Technology is preferred, though not mandatory.
