
Project Cost Consultant – Data Center Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide support during the preconstruction phases of project approvals, which includes performing historical cost analyses and developing annual contractor purchase orders.
• Manage internal project budgets and schedules of values utilizing project management software for monthly financial reporting across various projects.
• Oversee external project budgets and communications through external project management platforms (e.g., commitment management, change management, document control).
• Lead monthly forecasting and cash flow analysis, identify discrepancies, and prepare reports for executive review.
• Manage the vendor invoice review process, coordinating with project management, third-party auditors, and Accounts Payable.
• Ensure accurate quarterly accrual reporting for all active purchase orders by coordinating with vendors and the Finance team.
• Facilitate the routing and review of change orders, including content analysis and securing executive approvals.
• Conduct monthly financial health assessments of projects using dashboards, budget software, schedule comparisons, and productivity reports.
• Maintain and update internal and contractor risk registers, including evaluations of contingencies.
• Support the financial closeout process for internal budgets and vendor purchase orders.
• Collaborate with site schedulers to ensure that financial forecasts align with schedule updates.
• Assist with programmatic initiatives, training, and process alignment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 6–7 years of experience in the construction sector, including at least 4 years in a cost-focused project controls role supporting large, multi-project programs.
• Experience in Data Center or comparably critical mission construction is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in forecasting and change management for large-scale construction projects.
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and cost control tools (e.g., eBuilder, Procore, or similar).
• Experience with Unifier is considered a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate financial statuses and schedule details across multiple construction sites.
