Sage X3 Technical Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conducts assessments of client technical needs, particularly in the realms of software and database architecture, system performance, system administration, and reporting.

• Generates relevant documentation to effectively communicate and validate the gathered information.

• Evaluates technical requirements, reviews existing application products, and proposes efficient, cost-effective solutions that align with client business processes and functional needs.

• Collaborates directly with clients to gather insights on new business requirements and to identify and resolve issues they may be facing.

• Diagnoses complex multi-server, multi-application environments by utilizing diverse technical skills (application, database, networks, Windows server, user interactions, architecture setups, etc.) and examining log files for trends and errors.

• Provides clear recommendations for system enhancements or error corrections.

• Documents technical specifications, workflows, and system requirements.

• Leverages technical and business acumen to analyze client needs and align them with system capabilities.

• Continuously develops technical and system-specific knowledge, keeping abreast of the latest technological advancements and security protocols.

• Ensures prompt administration by submitting time and expense reports in a timely manner.

• Engages with colleagues and managers to exchange knowledge, raise critical issues, and propose process enhancements.

• Manages and nurtures relationships with existing clients and their installed products. This entails addressing inquiries, resolving issues, producing reports, configuring database interfaces, and ensuring overall client satisfaction with the software and company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with Sage X3 technical implementation or similar ERP solutions.

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience is necessary.

• A consultative background with a proven history of delivering solutions within established timeframes and budgets.

• A strong grasp of business needs and the capability to guarantee that technical solutions, strategies, and practices deliver business and customer value.

• Expertise in consulting on systems architecture, software performance, systems security, and database optimization.

• A successful history of achieving agreed-upon business objectives and performance metrics.

• Capacity to prioritize and perform tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

• Experience in a team-oriented, collaborative setting.

• Proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex system challenges.

• Strong interest in researching and developing solutions for unique problems.

• Enthusiasm for learning new software, methodologies, and technical skills.

• Solid foundational knowledge of SQL Server: Basic installation of a SQL instance; Understanding of how the SQL engine utilizes various database elements to provide solutions (data files, indexes, backups, tempdb, memory, etc.); Configuration of simple SQL Server maintenance plans, file locations, recovery models, memory limits; Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio; Ability to read and compose basic SQL queries.

• Basic understanding of Networking, Virtualization, and SSL certificates, including their use in securing websites.

• Capability to document technical designs.

• Proficient in writing and maintaining How-Tos and SOPs for complex procedures.

• Knowledge of systems security and authentication protocols such as LDAP, OAuth2, SAML2, etc.
