This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Assist Buildings and Places client projects in meeting financial, scheduling, and performance objectives.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and project teams across various projects on project control activities.
• Create and maintain fee proposal templates and generate precise fee proposals utilizing historical project cost data.
• Formulate contract-aligned project budgets in conjunction with fee proposals.
• Set up proposal environments, offer tools and guidance, coach teams, and develop standardized procedures.
• Aid in project setup and execution through budget formulation, WBS and CLM administration, financial controls, forecasting, EAC development, and performance reporting.
• Assist with procurement tasks, such as purchase orders, subcontractor setup, commitment tracking, invoice review, and payment processing.
• Support risk management, change management, and project recovery through analysis and reporting.
• Examine financial reports and KPIs to evaluate project health and pinpoint risks, opportunities, variances, emerging issues, completion estimates, unbilled balances, invoicing, and receivables aging.
• Supply decision-support information and data-driven suggestions to Project Managers and project leadership.
• Engage in monthly and quarterly project reviews.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Finance, Procurement, and Project Approvers.
• Provide COUPA PM assistance, including SAFs, coding, troubleshooting, issue reporting, IT tickets, and invoice research.
• Facilitate project closeout, encompassing final invoicing, payment reconciliation, subcontractor closeout, and release-of-claims documentation.
• Mentor junior project controls personnel and share best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance with 4 years of relevant experience in project controls, or a proven equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Alternative qualification: Associate's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma or Equivalent plus 8 years of relevant experience.
• United States Citizenship is required.
• Preferred: Prior engineering, construction management, or related experience with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of project planning and scheduling methods and practices.
• Experience and proficiency with COUPA, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other project controls, financial, and reporting systems.
• Ability to work remotely within the Eastern Time Zone.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Capability to identify emerging issues, constructively challenge assumptions, communicate concerns professionally, and deliver data-driven insights.
