This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Create SAS programs for the validation of surveillance, clinical, or research study data.
• Ensure that all necessary variables are included while removing any extraneous variables from the datasets.
• Detect discrepancies and inconsistencies within the resulting datasets.
• Develop codebooks and plans for data management.
• Execute duplicate procedures and compare the outcomes to confirm validity against relevant standards.
• Perform geospatial and molecular HIV analysis, interpreting results using R.
• Collaborate with analysts to craft innovative code that supports data analyses.
• Assist with the dissemination and reporting of data to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with federal entities to support funded jurisdictions or community-based organizations (CBOs).
• A Bachelor's degree in public health, statistics, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience with R or SAS.
• Proven ability to integrate multiple data sources to monitor and evaluate data quality, including accuracy and completeness.
• Strong and demonstrated proficiency in SAS.
• Familiarity with R programming.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a NAC clearance is required.
• Preferred: Experience in HIV surveillance or research data.
• Preferred: Previous work with CDC, HHS, or any federal or state health agency.
• Preferred: A Master’s degree in public health, statistics, or a related field.
• Preferred: Experience in creating and managing dashboards utilizing Power BI.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in generating SAS-based reports using PROC REPORT, PROC TABULATE, and exporting reports to Microsoft Excel, PDF, and HTML.
• Preferred: Knowledge of HIV, molecular data, and public health surveillance systems.
• Preferred: Experience with large datasets (>500,000 observations) that are document-based.
• Preferred: Proficient experience in SAS or R coding, including SAS MACROS, PROC SQL, and FORMATS.
• Preferred: Experience in manipulating and cleaning data using SAS functions, formats/informats, and procedures.
• Preferred: Background in behavioral or clinical surveillance data and/or primary or secondary research data.
