Programme Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Identify opportunities for policy development and contribute to strategic policy recommendations and positions.

• Enhance understanding of climate governance and AI policy frameworks, including the Cloud and AI Development Act and the EU Tech Sovereignty Package.

• Compile AI-related policies and research into publicly accessible briefings.

• Collaborate with NGO partners to formulate policy positions and carry out advocacy activities related to climate and AI.

• Facilitate effective engagement with the private sector throughout various program stages.

• Perform stakeholder mapping, research, and analysis.

• Create strategies and tactics to engage businesses and investors.

• Establish trusted relationships with businesses, investors, business NGOs, trade associations, and private-sector stakeholders.

• Monitor international climate policies, technology, and economic trends that impact the private sector and AI in Europe.

• Collaborate with subject-matter experts, consultants, and researchers.

• Produce outreach and advocacy materials for the private sector, including memos, brief reports, commitment letters, and talking points.

• Define terms of reference for research on AI and climate governance.

• Represent Climate Catalyst at events and forums organized by partners and business associations.

• Report to the Head of Business and Investor Engagement.

• Collaborate with the European programme team on strategies for emissions reduction in heavily polluting industries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in EU policy-making processes.

• Advocacy experience related to emerging technologies or AI and climate issues at Brussels and/or member-state levels.

• Proven experience in engaging policymakers and civil society in climate policy advocacy.

• Experience with private-sector organizations is valuable but not mandatory.

• Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams to implement organization-wide strategies.

• Knowledge of AI and climate-related topics, including policies for industrial decarbonization, particularly in Europe.

• Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Capacity to simplify complex issues for a general audience.

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with civil society organizations, businesses, and investors.

• Awareness of diverse partner perspectives and opinions.

• Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.

• Eligibility to work in the European country of residence.

• A cover letter of no more than one page and a CV are required.

• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in an additional European language is highly regarded but not mandatory.
