This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Panama.
• Spearhead comprehensive program management for mining projects in Central America, encompassing exploration, technical studies, permitting, and operational readiness workflows.
• Establish program scope, objectives, milestones, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
• Facilitate coordination among cross-functional teams (geology, engineering, environmental, legal, finance, community relations) and external consultants.
• Cultivate relationships with government authorities, regulators, and local institutions to progress permits, concessions, and policy initiatives.
• Lead community and stakeholder engagement initiatives that align with social license and ESG commitments.
• Assess program risks, dependencies, and critical paths; implement mitigation strategies and escalate issues to the steering committee.
• Establish governance frameworks, reporting routines, and KPIs across projects; generate executive-level updates.
• Supervise program budgets, capital expenditure tracking, and vendor/contract management.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, international mining standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in Project/Program Management, Business, or a related area is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the mining lifecycle: exploration, feasibility, permitting, construction, and operations.
• Over 6 years of progressive experience in the mining sector, with a minimum of 3-5 years managing complex programs or multi-project portfolios.
• Program/project management certification (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or a comparable credential) is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience collaborating with government authorities, regulators, and local communities, ideally within Latin America.
• Demonstrated history of managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams in both greenfield and brownfield mining settings.
• Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication abilities.
• Outstanding planning, organizational, and risk-management skills.
• Proficiency in program management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and reporting tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
