This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Panama.
β’ Spearhead comprehensive program management for mining projects in Central America, encompassing exploration, technical studies, permitting, and operational readiness workflows.
β’ Establish program scope, objectives, milestones, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
β’ Facilitate coordination among cross-functional teams (geology, engineering, environmental, legal, finance, community relations) and external consultants.
β’ Cultivate relationships with government authorities, regulators, and local institutions to progress permits, concessions, and policy initiatives.
β’ Lead community and stakeholder engagement initiatives that align with social license and ESG commitments.
β’ Assess program risks, dependencies, and critical paths; implement mitigation strategies and escalate issues to the steering committee.
β’ Establish governance frameworks, reporting routines, and KPIs across projects; generate executive-level updates.
β’ Supervise program budgets, capital expenditure tracking, and vendor/contract management.
β’ Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, international mining standards, and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in Project/Program Management, Business, or a related area is preferred.
β’ Strong understanding of the mining lifecycle: exploration, feasibility, permitting, construction, and operations.
β’ Over 6 years of progressive experience in the mining sector, with a minimum of 3-5 years managing complex programs or multi-project portfolios.
β’ Program/project management certification (PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or a comparable credential) is strongly preferred.
β’ Proven experience collaborating with government authorities, regulators, and local communities, ideally within Latin America.
β’ Demonstrated history of managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams in both greenfield and brownfield mining settings.
β’ Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication abilities.
β’ Outstanding planning, organizational, and risk-management skills.
β’ Proficiency in program management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and reporting tools.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
