Program Manager – Defense Trade Controls

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee program management for the execution of the DDTC Consent Agreement, which includes integrated planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and the closure of actions across various workstreams.

• Organize and manage regular operational meetings, including weekly sessions.

• Collaborate with workstream leaders to ensure that commitments and milestones are met punctually in accordance with the requirements of the Consent Agreement and expectations of the Special Compliance Officer.

• Facilitate engagement with internal leaders and external stakeholders, such as the Special Compliance Officer, external auditor, and DDTC.

• Draft executive-level status reports and briefing documents that highlight program progress, key risks, action items, resource requirements, and performance against commitments.

• Propel cross-functional execution of Consent Agreement requirements, which involves support for audits, digital transformation initiatives, training, and jurisdiction/classification validation activities.

• Monitor, track, and escalate program risks, issues, and remediation efforts.

• Ensure clear ownership, deadlines, and completion criteria are established.

• Assist in the development and continuous enhancement of processes, procedures, training, and governance mechanisms.

• Utilize lean and process improvement principles to enhance program execution, action tracking, reporting, and operational rhythms.

• Lead effectively in uncertain or evolving circumstances while balancing strategic priorities with urgent tactical actions and deadlines.

• Report to the Executive Leader of International Trade Compliance and collaborate with the Chief Counsel for Regulatory Affairs.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, or other regulated environments OR an Associate’s degree with at least 12 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, or other regulated environments OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 14 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, or other regulated environments.

• At least 8 years of professional experience in compliance, legal, or other regulated settings.

• Proven experience in leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and successfully driving multiple workstreams to completion.

• Strong background in integrated planning, status reporting, executive communications, and stakeholder management.

• Capability to work effectively across a matrixed organization and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

• Proficient in interpreting, analyzing, and synthesizing data into actionable insights and decisions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in a regulated, compliance-oriented, legal, audit, or risk management setting.

• Familiarity with lean methodologies, process optimization, and structured operational routines.

• Experience in creating and managing executive-level reports and presentations.

• Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve ambiguous challenges with a keen attention to detail.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, if applicable.
