This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Assist in managing timelines and ensure target deliverables are met on schedule and to a high standard.
• Oversee and implement the Gladys K. Washington Connecting Leaders Fellowship Program (CLFP), which includes managing: executive coach liaison; application announcement process; applicant review process and committee (when available); cohort Summit; vendor relationships; surveys, and information collection (e.g., surveys).
• Collaborate with the Conference and Convening Manager to ensure successful planning and execution of the annual conference by providing programmatic leadership, aligning content and logistics, monitoring budgets and timelines, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
• Manage the Call for Session process for the annual conference and assist in the content curation of other programs (researching speakers/VIP presenters; creating and launching online session request forms; coordinating session submissions; and organizing speaker notifications and preparation calls).
• Act as the staff and speaker/presenter liaison for programs/events (conference; CLFP; webinars; etc.), which includes coordinating invite lists and specifications, as well as pre- and post-event preparation.
• Assist in coordinating and implementing programs and initiatives led by the Programs Department, including webinars, virtual and in-person events, learning opportunities, and other special projects.
• Prepare and submit quarterly program reports that highlight key activities, outcomes, participant engagement, and impact, while sharing relevant insights and updates with internal departments to ensure organizational alignment.
• Serve as the staff liaison for the CHANGE Philanthropy network, including participation in the UNITY Summit planning task force as needed.
• Maintain key external and internal relationships with foundation and nonprofit professionals, ABFE members, mission-aligned sector partners, and subject matter experts, while collaborating with other ABFE programmatic efforts, membership, administration, and other ABFE departments.
• Assist in establishing and executing evaluation mechanisms for ongoing program assessment.
• Work with the marketing and communications team to develop and disseminate program-related activities, web announcements, email blasts, blog posts, and special event promotions.
• Monitor program content on the website and disseminate information as needed.
• Notify appropriate staff of any necessary changes.
• Facilitate program meetings by creating agendas, documenting key decisions and action items, and coordinating follow-up to ensure timely execution.
• Oversee program-related financial activities by reviewing and submitting invoices and expense documentation, monitoring program budgets, and collaborating with the Finance Department to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Four to six (4–6) years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit program management, program administration, or project coordination.
• Prior experience in philanthropy, racial equity, social justice, or within a mission-driven nonprofit organization is highly preferred.
• A demonstrated commitment to ABFE's mission and a solid understanding of racial equity principles and practices.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the capability to coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent planning, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Strong facilitation and relationship-building capabilities.
• Ability to work independently while effectively contributing to collaborative teams.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Experience managing consultants, vendors, and external partners.
• Capability to analyze information and prepare concise reports.
• Proficiency in: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Salesforce or a comparable CRM system, Asana or other project management software, Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms, email marketing platforms, database management systems, and social media and digital communication tools.
