This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Program development: Engage in the design and creation of the Master’s program in Technology Business Management and support student recruitment efforts.
• Masterclasses and expert seminars: Conduct live sessions in English covering big data, business intelligence, cloud infrastructures, and data-driven technologies.
• Student supervision and examination formats: Offer academic guidance, mentoring, and assistance for project and research work; design and evaluate portfolio-based assignments, examinations, and master’s theses.
• Applied research: Undertake practice-oriented research and knowledge-transfer projects in data science, data infrastructures, and digital transformation in partnership with industry and research collaborators.
• Funding and cooperation: Initiate collaborative research efforts and secure external funding to enhance applied research at the university.
• Publications and presentations: Disseminate research findings in academic journals and present at relevant conferences; represent the university at specialized and industry events.
• Transfer: Engage in research-related product development, start-up initiatives, and patent applications when applicable.
• University development: Contribute to the university’s academic governance, assist in expanding the range of study programs, and participate in international collaborations.
• A completed university degree.
• Proven pedagogical and didactic skills demonstrated through practical teaching experience.
• Special aptitude for independent scholarly work, typically evidenced by an above-average doctorate in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Significant accomplishments in applying or developing scientific findings and methods, with a minimum of five years of professional experience, at least three of which should be outside the higher education sector—preferably in data analytics, digital systems, or data-driven business processes.
• Ability and willingness to engage in teaching, research, and transfer activities in English.
• Openness to develop and enhance higher education teaching skills, especially in (generative) AI-supported instruction.
• Innovative teaching approach: eagerness to create and implement new didactic formats in data science and digital systems education.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration: readiness to work with colleagues in AI, blockchain, robotics, and management.
• Practical and transfer orientation: demonstrated experience in industry or research projects that apply data science solutions or digital infrastructures in real-world environments.
• International perspective: experience in international contexts or a desire to incorporate global developments in data and systems science into teaching and research.
• Commitment to institutional growth: eagerness to actively contribute to the establishment and expansion of a new university.
• Research profile: a visible research focus in big data analytics, cloud systems, AI-based data analysis, or digital infrastructures.
