Professional Fee Coder, Radiology Experience Preferred

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Abstract and code professional fee hospital services conducted by SLPG physicians from medical records.

• Adhere to guidelines set by ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, AHA, AMA, and CMS.

• Utilize the 3M Encoder for validating RVUs and unbundling CPT-4 procedures.

• Achieve a coding accuracy rate of 95% through rigorous quality reviews.

• Meet daily productivity standards as specified.

• Keep abreast of the latest physician-service coding guidelines.

• Input abstracted physician data into specialty-specific databases.

• Facilitate educational sessions for medical staff regarding coding and documentation compliance.

• Collaborate with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing to ensure a smooth flow of information.

• Conduct quarterly reviews of data quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• RHIA, RHIT, CPC, or CCS-P certification with a solid understanding of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding is required.

• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding.

• Prior experience with computerized patient record and coding systems is preferred.

• Familiarity with AHA, AMA, and CMS coding guidelines and directives.

• Proven ability to maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate.

• Capability to uphold required daily productivity levels.

• Current knowledge of coding guidelines for inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care, and E&M physician services.

• Proficient in using the 3M Encoder.

• Must be able to work remotely while residing in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
