Professional Fee Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Code and abstract professional fee hospital services rendered by SLPG physicians from medical records.

• Adhere to ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, AHA, AMA, and CMS standards.

• Utilize 3M Encoder to verify RVUs and ensure proper CPT-4 procedure unbundling.

• Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% through quality assessments.

• Achieve daily productivity targets as specified.

• Stay updated with coding guidelines relevant to inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care, and E&M physician services.

• Input abstracted physician data into databases specific to specialties.

• Provide educational sessions for medical staff regarding coding and documentation compliance.

• Collaborate with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing to guarantee the smooth flow of necessary information.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 1–3 years of experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding.

• Hold an RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P, or CCS credential as part of educational qualifications.

• Prior experience with computerized patient record and coding systems is preferred.

• Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, and CMS coding guidelines.

• Capability to maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95%.

• Ability to meet required daily productivity levels.

• Capacity to sit for up to seven hours daily.

• Frequent typing and data entry with hands and fingers.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to ten pounds and occasionally stoop, bend, or reach above shoulder height.
