Professional Fee Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Responsible for coding and abstracting professional fee hospital services conducted by SLPG physicians based on medical records.

• Implement ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, AHA, AMA, and CMS coding standards.

• Leverage 3M Encoder to verify RVUs and ensure correct CPT-4 procedure unbundling.

• Achieve a coding accuracy rate of 95% through ongoing quality assessments.

• Adhere to daily productivity targets as specified.

• Stay informed about the latest coding guidelines for inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care, and E&M services.

• Input abstracted physician data into specialty-specific databases.

• Facilitate educational sessions for medical personnel regarding coding and documentation compliance.

• Work in collaboration with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing to guarantee proper information exchange.

• Conduct quarterly evaluations to ensure data integrity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess RHIA, RHIT, CPC, OR CCS-P certification along with a solid understanding of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.

• Require 1-3 years of experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding.

• Previous experience with a computerized patient record and coding system is preferred.
