Production Director – Direct Mail Fundraising

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate direct mail production projects from inception to mail drop.

• Ensure that campaigns are executed with precision, efficiency, and adherence to schedules.

• Collaborate closely with internal teams, printers, mail shops, data vendors, and production partners.

• Coordinate project timelines, manage approvals, troubleshoot challenges, and pinpoint opportunities to enhance efficiencies and lower costs.

• Lead and support Avalon’s Production team by mentoring Production Project Managers.

• Assist in managing departmental capacity, identifying training opportunities, and fortifying production processes throughout the organization.

• Act as a reliable internal resource on production strategy, postal regulations, vendor management, and quality control best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in direct mail production management.

• Extensive knowledge in direct mail production management and print/mail processes.

• Proven experience in managing complex, high-volume fundraising campaigns with numerous components.

• Strong skills in vendor management and negotiation.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas such as VLOOKUP, IFERROR, CONCAT, and linked worksheets.

• Experience in managing schedules, budgets, and production timelines.

• Background in leading or mentoring production teams.

• Familiarity with USPS regulations, postal strategy, and production trends.

• Proven ability to identify production efficiencies and opportunities for cost savings.

• Strong quality control skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities within a deadline-driven environment.
