Product Owner, MegaCAD

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the functional development of the metal construction application on the MegaCAD platform.

• Take ownership and prioritize the product roadmap based on customer value, strategic significance, effort, and market relevance.

• Gather and organize requirements from customer projects, support, sales, executive management, competitive analysis, and internal product research.

• Convert functional requirements into epics, user stories, tickets, and well-defined acceptance criteria.

• Analyze metal fabrication workflows comprehensively — from design and technical drawings to profiles, connections, cutting, drilling, parts lists, export formats, and manufacturing.

• Validate new features in collaboration with internal teams, pilot customers, and end users.

• Address domain-specific inquiries with the CTO and development team while facilitating transparent development, testing, and release processes.

• Monitor relevant CAD and metalworking solutions to identify opportunities for MegaCAD Metal.

• Prepare product modifications for support, sales, marketing, and training.

• Collaborate closely with the Head of Product, CTO, development management, and the development team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience with CAD systems, technical design, or technical drafting.

• Ideally possess practical experience in metal construction, structural steelwork, mechanical engineering, technical planning, or manufacturing.

• Understanding of user interactions with CAD systems and how software can enhance workflows in trades and design.

• Basic knowledge of software development, agile methodologies, backlogs, user stories, and release processes — or a strong willingness to learn rapidly.

• Capability to structure complex requirements, articulate them clearly, and convey them to development, customers, and internal stakeholders.

• Independent, reliable, and analytical work style.

• Proficient communication skills in German.

• English language skills are advantageous for competitive analysis, documentation, and technical coordination.

• Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Project Manager, designer/engineer with a software focus, or technical consultant in the CAD sector.

• Familiarity with metal fabrication or manufacturing processes such as profile processing, cutting, drilling patterns, parts lists, laser cutting, DXF/DWG, DSTV-NC, or similar formats.

• Experience in direct interaction with customers, pilot users, support, or sales.

• Understanding of platform products, CAD kernels, interfaces, or industry-specific applications.
