Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take charge of managing and prioritizing the product backlog independently, ensuring that the team focuses on the most impactful tasks.

• Create epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria while utilizing AI tools to efficiently generate and refine backlog artifacts at scale.

• Lead the planning of product releases and establish delivery expectations for new features.

• Verify that completed stories adhere to Neumo’s Definition of Done.

• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support to ensure successful product launches.

• Engage with customers and stakeholders to collect and validate requirements and feedback.

• Work alongside senior leadership to shape product strategy and provide updates on product development and milestones.

• Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to guide product decisions and strategy.

• Ensure that the product meets user needs, aligns with business objectives, and is feasible from a technical standpoint.

• Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Track and report on product performance, quality, and usage metrics.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working within Agile methodology.

• Comprehensive understanding of the phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

• Experience in the public sector or with public sector software is preferred.

• Familiarity with tax administration, short-term rental, or revenue management solutions is advantageous.

• Proficient in JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Figma.

• Experience utilizing AI productivity tools such as Claude, ChatPRD, or Copilot.

• Knowledge and experience with technical solutions and components, including APIs, Middleware, Services, and SQL.

• Capability to create epics, user stories, user journeys, wireframes, and basic diagrams.

• Excellent written communication skills and a strong client presence.

• Ability to effectively bridge the gap between technical and business audiences.

• Skill in managing multiple competing priorities.

• Ability to inspire, motivate, and encourage others to meet deadlines.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the day.

• Regularly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment.

• Occasionally move around within the office.

• Frequently communicate via telephone and video conference.
