Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Transform strategy into a prioritized backlog of features and stories with well-defined systems-analysis insights.

• Deliver product increments that provide significant business outcomes.

• Take ownership of story refinement, backlog management, sprint readiness, acceptance criteria, UAT coordination, and prioritization focused on outcomes.

• Lead sprint and program increment planning within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Validate stories and oversee delivery through to deployment.

• Be responsible for delivery, acceptance, sign-off, and approval decisions, including final functionality approval.

• Utilize Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks effectively.

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, refinement sessions, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTE), business leaders, architecture, and engineering teams on program-level delivery.

• Maintain documentation and reinforce established processes.

• Manage intake, prioritization, and refinement to ensure that work is well-defined, sequenced, and ready for delivery.

• Certify work products throughout the SDLC, including UAT, release readiness, and approval for production deployment.

• Align agile delivery, user experience (UX), quality assurance (QA), compliance, and engineering on readiness, completion, and release standards.

• Address conflicts, cross-team dependencies, and delivery risks with both business and technical stakeholders.

• Collaborate with engineering and the business on problem statements, feasibility validation, and outcome definitions.

• Deliver prioritized backlogs, defect management, user stories, acceptance criteria, release plans, UAT plans, and final approvals.

• Promote continuous improvement through post-mortem analyses.

• Translate business needs into clear and technically feasible requirements when necessary.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, or Systems Analysis.

• Proficient understanding of backlog management, agile delivery, program increment planning, and cross-team coordination.

• Experience in the insurance industry is mandatory.

• Strong preference for candidates with Stop-Loss experience.

• SAFe or Scrum certifications are advantageous.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

• Knowledge of best practices in product ownership.

• Outstanding collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder alignment, and conflict resolution abilities.

• Capable of leading multiple projects simultaneously, driving results, and prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Proficient technical writing skills.
