Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Act as a primary point of contact between market demands and solution implementation.

• Take full ownership of the product backlog from start to finish.

• Effectively manage and prioritize backlog items based on their impact.

• Draft epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Utilize AI tools such as Claude, ChatPRD, and Rovo to develop and enhance backlog artifacts.

• Lead the planning of product releases and establish expectations for the delivery of new features.

• Ensure that completed stories adhere to Neumo’s Definition of Done.

• Collaborate with the engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support teams on product launches.

• Engage with customers and stakeholders to gather and validate requirements and feedback.

• Work alongside senior leadership to guide product strategy and provide updates on progress and milestones.

• Analyze market trends and competitive environments.

• Ensure that products meet user needs, align with business objectives, and match technical capabilities.

• Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies.

• Monitor and report on product performance, quality, and usage metrics.

• Execute other related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working within Agile methodology.

• Strong understanding of the stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.

• Experience in a Product Owner or Business Analyst role is preferred.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

• Desired experience in the public sector or with public sector software.

• Experience in tax administration, short-term rental, or revenue management solutions is advantageous.

• Proficiency in JIRA, Azure DevOps, and Figma.

• Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Claude, ChatPRD, or Copilot.

• Understanding of technical solutions and components, including APIs, Middleware, Services, and SQL.

• Ability to create epics, user stories, user journeys, wireframes, and basic diagrams.

• Excellent written communication skills and a strong client presence.

• Capability to effectively translate between technical and business stakeholders.

• Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.

• Competence in persuading, encouraging, and motivating others to meet deadlines.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of the day.

• Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment.

• Occasionally move around the office.

• Frequently communicate via telephone and video conference.
